Germany revises company tax laws with a bumper change

An amendment to German law passed on Friday will make it more difficult for companies to get refunds for withholding taxes in the context of contracts.

Experts have welcomed some of the changes in the sweeping amendment that changes various aspects of German corporate tax law, but have also indicated that it could also make the audit more taxing.

The measure approved by the Federal Council is one of several important tax laws that the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel intends to sign before the elections in September.
