Putnam estimates that $ 0.0151 per share of the Putnam Master Intermediate Income Trust’s dividend will be paid out of the accumulated net investment income and that $ 0.0069 per share will represent a return on capital. These estimates and the sources of dividends and distributions for the Fund are determined in accordance with the accounting standards applicable to the Fund. These principles may differ from those that apply to characterizing distributions under federal tax law, and accordingly, the treatment of federal tax law is likely to differ from the estimated characterization above. In addition, the sources of dividends are estimated at the time of declaration. Actual results differ from these estimates. Any non-taxable return on investment can only be determined after the end of the fund’s financial year. In January 2021, you will receive final information from the fund in the previous calendar year about the federal tax status of these and other distributions from the fund.
