The Washington County Board is delaying some property tax funds on June Bayport

The Washington County Board of Commissioners on April 13th agreed to allow additional time for paying property taxes in the first half of 2021 with no penalty for certain property owners.

By law, the due date for the first half of annual property tax payments for most property owners is May 17th.

Property owners who continue to feel the impact and repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and have listed properties without an escrow account can pay property taxes due up to or before June 15, 2021 without the imposition of a penalty.

Commercial / industrial real estate with an aggregate tax not exceeding $ 100,000 in 2021;

· Residential real estate; and

· Agricultural / rural land.

Residential real estate would include both homestead real estate and non-homestead real estate.

Property tax payments by credit companies, banks or mortgage lenders on funds collected through escrow payments from property owners are excluded from this extension. Payments are expected to be made on or before May 17, 2021.

All property owners who are able to pay their property taxes for the first half of the year by the due date are encouraged to do so in order to keep the county, school, and city running and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic support.
