Oil Firm Sues for $ 1.6 million “mistaken” tax refund

A New Hampshire-based oil company owes the government about $ 1.6 million for wrongly receiving a fuel excise tax refund, according to a recent lawsuit.

Justice Department attorneys filed a lawsuit against Irving Oil Terminals Inc., a Delaware oil company headquartered in Portsmouth, NH, for paying the taxable fuel.
