Frank and Monica McCourt will host the virtual celebration together on Thursday February 18thalong with the editor-in-chief of Robb Report, Paul Croughton. Virtual attendees will participate in a live auction and awards ceremony that will feature a special musical performance by the Grammy Award-winning recording artist Gloria Gaynor. The proceeds from the auction will benefit the EQUUS Foundation, America’s leading organization for horse welfare. The Horsepower Gala collects donations and raises awareness for the topics of horse abuse, neglect and slaughter. Event award winners are highlighted below.

Mayisha Akbars The longstanding partnership with the Compton Jr. Posse has touched the lives of countless young people by teaching them the value of community and the healing powers of horses. She is an inspiration to so many people, and her commitment to her equine partners sets the gold standard.

Nacho Figueras’ contributions to polo, both in and out of the saddle, are undeniable. In addition to his outstanding sporting achievements, he has tirelessly promoted polo around the world. Using his influence to create money and awareness for countless charities, he has become an international symbol representing the best in the sport.

Peder Fredricsons Equally noteworthy are contributions to the world of equestrian sports. His international competitive achievements and his passion for horses distinguish him in sport. In addition to his riding career, Peder is a professional graphic designer who has worked for the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale) and the Swedish International Horse Show.

Margie Goldstein Engle is a dedicated rider and a constant inspiration. A competitor in the Sydney At the 2000 Summer Olympics, she won numerous Grand Prix events, was a member of Nations Cup winning teams and took part in 17 World Cup finals.

Danny Robertson and Ron Danta are an influential couple who are committed to horse riding as both participant and trainer. In addition to horses, Danny and Ron generously devote time to dog rescue and have saved more than 12,000 dogs through their organization of the same name, Danny & Ron’s Rescue.
