Sastra Legislation College wins the KR Ramamani Tax Moot Courtroom Chennai Information competitors

CHENNAI: Sastra Law School won the 11th KR Ramamani Tax Moot Court competition held online by the School of Excellence in Law in Chennai.
A Sastra team consisting of Pratiksha Easwar, student of B Com LLB (Hons) last year, and Aravindini U and Kavitha Ravi, BA LLB students last year, won the trophy by addressing the problem of curative and retrospective provisions discussed in Section 40 of the Income Tax Act.
A total of 30 teams, including Symbiosis (Pune), Tamil Nadu National Law University (Trichy), Christ University (Bengaluru) and Nirma University (Ahmedabad) took part in the competition.
In the final, the Sastra team beat the National Law Institute University Bhopal. It is the fifth time Sastra has won the Tax Law Moot in the past eight years.
