This program is the first of Freeman Law’s multi-class course designed to prepare CPAs and enrolled agents for the tax court admissions exam. The participants get an overview of the tax court and learn about the jurisdiction and the procedure of the tax court.

Our course is supervised and taught by certified tax lawyers. Our attorneys have conducted hundreds of cases in the finance court for the first time. Freeman Law brings a wealth of procedural and specialist knowledge, as well as a passion for teaching and communicating. Our course faculties include Jason B. Freeman, who is a dual licensed attorney (CPA) and currently chairs the Texas Society of CPAs. Mr. Freeman has taught tax law at the Dedman School of Law for nearly a decade and was recognized by Chambers & Partners as one of the leading tax and litigation attorneys in the United States and “Leading Tax Controversy” for the Litigation Attorney of the Year State of Texas for 2019 and 2020 by AI. Matthew Roberts served for many years as the clerk / legal advisor to the Chief Justice of the Tax Court. He is a professor teaching a corporate taxation course at the Dedman School of Law. Mr. Roberts received his LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law and is a nationally recognized tax controversy attorney and prolific writer. Zach Montgomery is a dual lawyer and auditor with extensive experience in both demanding tax law and accounting. Mr. Montgomery is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Finally, Gregory Mitchell is the director of the federal taxpayer clinic at SMU Dedman School of Law. He received his LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
