MTN Group announced the appointment of Troopti Desai as Group Executive, Tax.
Your appointment as a member of the Executive Board should take effect on September 13, 2021, according to a notification from the Group.
The statement said Troopti is a lawyer and has extensive experience in labor law, immigration law, corporate income tax, merger and acquisition tax, tax incentives, corporate governance, law and finance, and tax policy and tax authorities.
It stated that she would join MTN from PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where she was a partner in the corporate tax department responsible for managing various forms of tax risk for multinational corporations and South African listed clients in sub-Saharan Africa.
Prior to joining PwC, Troopti was Head of Tax for SSA at General Electric. She was also a director of several GE companies in South Africa.
She holds a Bachelor of Law, an advanced degree in tax law and an MBA from Wits University.
